8a) Modern Workers includes seeing some types of jobs/job holders reclassified to fit the narrative going on in the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (I call it the One Big Bilking Bill). This is a back/forth fight between not only the Rs & Ds, but administrations. Each side is trying to control who (or what jobs) can remain independent. This fight not only encompasses Fair Labor laws, but tax codes, as well as build up (or appear to tear down, in some cases) the gig economy!

8b) On May 21st, the Senate HELP hearing on the “Future of Higher Education” spun this agenda in a whole different direction using DEI as the hated scapegoat and the justification for why higher education needed a reform to fit more skill based jobs.
